His tours focus on small groups and a network of carefully selected, highly personalised and comfortable guest house type accommodation, known for their ambience, service and the calibre of the hosts/owners.

He lived in Dundee – the heart of the Battlefields Route for 36 years and has an intimate knowledge of the area which boasts 68 battle and skirmish sites.  He grew up on deed of  derring-do, following in the footsteps of his late father – Fred Jones, Historian and first curator of Talana Museum in Dundee, Northern KwaZulu Natal.

Evan, a Regional Guide, is a founder member and was Chairman 97/98 & 98/99 of the Midlands branch of KZN Tourist guides.  He is also the representative member of the company of the PCCI (Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Commerce and Industries).  With Evan you will re-live the drama and bravery of battles between Zulu/British & Boer/British – interspersed with strange and laughable stories on people and events.
